Investment Associate

To reinforce the holding team we are seeking an investment associate with a strong analytical mind combined with a hands-on “can do” attitude, to work on investments (new & add-ons) & strategy (both the holding’s investment strategy as well as formulation of the BU’s strategy). In this position you will be part of the holding team supporting the portfolio companies in taking tactical and strategic decisions to achieve Fedrus’ ambition for sustainable, profitable growth by:

  • assessing the attractiveness of new investment opportunities through financial analysis and sector evaluation;
  • conducting market research and in-dept industry analysis to identify potential targets;
  • supporting existing portfolio companies in value creation, including developing value creation plans, financial models and growth strategies;
  • participating in M&A transactions, due diligences processes, valuation exercices and business modeling; and
  • collaborate with the management teams on business transformation projects.


Your Profile

  • You have an ardent desire to work in a change environment, driven by operational changes and M&A transactions.
  • You have a master’s degree (in finance or engineering). Holding an MBA would be considered a plus.
  • You have 3 to 5-year experience in corporate M&A, investment banking, transaction services, strategy consulting and/or private equity, where you demonstrated the ability to perform and summarize analysis into management insights and recommended actions.
  • You have an analytical mind and have in-depth knowledge of business processes, corporate finance, financial modelling, valuation, and accounting.
  • You have a demonstrated knowledge of digital transformation, IT transformation, and big data.
  • You are well organized and able to prioritize multiple assignments concurrently.
  • You can interact with senior executive management and operating teams, and manage laterally and down across multiple functional areas.
  • You are able to coordinate and cooperate with local management teams and consultants. You can interact with and challenge management teams.
  • You have very good interpersonal and written communication skills to interact with internal and external parties in Dutch, English and French.
  • You have a commercial way of thinking and are able to analyze businesses’ performance.
  • You pay strongly attention to detail, demonstrating a logical and methodical approach.
  • You have excellent project management, presentation, Excel and Power BI skills.
